Welcome Home – Saturday May 7, 2016

We have a Welcome Home Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the American Legion Post 155 in Crystal River.

Dinner at 5PM. Program at 6PM. Due to the relationship of these Soldiers with the DAV, this program will be a little bit different. We hope to see all of you there.

Dinner will be French Dip and fries for $6.00

Welcome Home on 3/26/2016

Saturday, March 26th, 2016 at VFW Post 4252 Hernando (Helicopter).

A Welcome Home for Sgt (E-5) Todd Snedeker who has served nearly 12 years in the U.S. Army. Sgt Snedeker grew up in Homosassa and graduated from Crystal River High School. He lives locally and has a contractor business.

Dinner will be at our usual time of 5pm and the ceremony will begin at 6pm. Menu will be confirmed by next week and will be a meat special, fried fish or baked fish. Each comes with side dish and dessert for $8.00.

Welcome Home 11/27/2015

November 27, 2015 we will have a Welcome Home Party at the Hernando VFW Post. Dinner at 4:45pm and ceremony at 6pm.

We are welcoming home:

Specialist (E-4) James Ewing US Army
Served with the 101st Airborne Division Air Assault BCT (Rakkasans) in Operation Enduring Freedom). Married to Maria Ewing.

Logistics Specialist (E-3) Vincent Kane, United States Navy
Served on USS George H. W. Bush (CVN77) supporting Operation Active Endeavor, Operation Inherent Resolve, and Operation Enduring Freedom in the war on terrorism Feb – Nov 2014. He worked in the Air Transport Office and is a graduate of Citrus High School. He remains on active duty.

The meal will be your choice of spaghetti and meatballs or fish, with sides and dessert for $8. There will be a live band after the ceremony and it is included in the dinner price. Dinner will be served from 4:45pm – 5:45pm. The ceremony will begin at 6pm.

We have a Soldier returning from Iraq. The Welcome Home event will be on Friday July 17th at the American Legion Post 155 in Crystal River. Dinner at 5 and program at 6:00PM

Not sure if any of you remember Sgt Dennis Boles (Aaron’s dad) Lived here in Homosassa and was with the Brooksville National Guard, a helicopter mechanic. Anyway he died while in Iraq I believe from a heart attack after a long march they had done.

Operation Welcome Home – Wednesday April 29, 2015

Reminder. Operation Welcome Home Ceremony this week!!!

Please join us for a Welcome Home for Air Force Staff Sergeant Brad Barter on WEDS April 29th at the American Legion Post 155 in Crystal River.

SSgt Barter graduated from Citrus High school in 2000, joining the Air Force in 2001. He has been to Qatar, Turkey, Iraq and Afghanistan in his 14 years of service.

Dinner starts at 5:00PM followed by program at 6:00 PM.

Dinner will be Ham, scallop potatoes, veggie and salad.

Need a head count please to make sure we have enough food.  Email Barbara and I and let us know how many in your party will be dining.  It is always a good meal at Post 155.

ALSO PLEASE NOTE THIS IS WEDS THE 29TH OF APRIL. It’s a busy week for all, but not to busy to honor our heroes and their families.
