Dedication of Veterans Plaza – 11-10-2009

The ceremony we want to attend, the dedication of the Veterans Plaza will be held on November 10, 2009 at 9:00am.  The Veterans Plaza is where the brick we bought has been placed.  CFCC wants an RSVP by November 5, 2009 if we’re going to attend.

ABATE Members, Veterans and Friends (All Welcome),
A Veteran friend of my husband’s requested that I contact everyone we know and asked if we would do our best to be at the Ocala Airport @ 8:30pm October 29th 2009 to welcome home WWII Veterans flying in on the Honor Flight.  The plane is scheduled to arrive at 9pm.
The Honor Flight was arranged, in their honor, to take these WWII Veterans to Washington DC to visit the WWII Memorial.   Imagine these WWII Veterans responses when they arrive and see what kind of Welcome Home we can give them by our attendance!   
I look forward to seeing all of you who are able to participate.

“The Wall” Poker Run – August 29, 2009

Fundraiser for The Wall Poker Run

August 29, 2009

• Scenic ride through Marion, Levy, & Citrus Counties.
• Starts at RideNow PowerSports – 3920 N Hwy 441, Ocala, FL – First bike out @ 9am.
• Stops include: Hickory Island in Inglis, Backyard Choppers in Dunnellon, Iron Horse Parts in Lecanto.
• Ends at VFW Post 10087 – Beverly Hills – Last bike in by 2pm – Food, refreshments, music.

This is a fundraiser to help the Vietnam Veterans Gathering bring in a 3/5 scale version of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial to Palm Chevrolet, Ocala on October 15 – 19, 2009.

ALL proceeds will go towards expenses for The Wall.
